Public organization Center for Support of Civil Society (CSSC "Shahrvand") "Shahrvand" was established in September 2000, registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan on November 26, 2001, under number 822 and re-registered on December 18, 2007 under number 418
Mission of the Center
Implementation of socio-economic activities, including projects that reduce poverty and increase the mobilization of the population's activity to address priority problems.
Activity:
The Center effectively functions as a service organization, providing the PO community and community-based organizations (CBOs) with the opportunity to receive free qualified consulting, technical, informational and organizational support.
Within the framework of the programs implemented in the region by the PO “Shahrvand”, over 800 trainings on various topics have been held for 20 years, more than 12,000 people have been trained. The implementation of educational programs contributed to the creation of more than 100 NGOs and 70 community-based organizations, most of which, having received the support of donor organizations, have become stable institutions of civil society.

Knowledge of languages:
All employees of the organization and contract trainers are fluent in Tajik and Russian, 3 employees are fluent in English (advanced level).

From December 2019 to November 2020, the organization implemented the project “Increasing awareness of potential labor migrants regarding the risks of labor migration.” During this activity, Shahrvand tried two different methods of reaching out to potential migrants to exchange ideas to raise awareness of the risks associated with extremism: formal sessions at local migration centers, and peer-to-peer outreach. A team of young facilitators has been created with the skills to work with potential labor migrants and members of their families regarding violent extremism, radicalization and terrorism.
