The NGO “Mumtoz” aims to strengthen civil society and to improve the living conditions for the citizens of Tajikistan, especially socially vulnerable groups.
The organization was founded 2001 and mainly implements projects to increasing knowledge and legal literacy of youth as well as building capacity of civil society organizations. Mumtoz conducts activities to mobilize community efforts to solve social problems and to restore the social infrastructure.
The NGO is member of the National Association of NGOs of Tajikistan, the Association of Youth Organizations under the Committee of Youth and Tourism, the Council of Entrepreneurs under the Committee on Women and Family, the Association of Parents of Children with Disabilities, the Chamber of Commerce and the Union of Artisans of the Republic of Tajikistan. In collaboration with those associations, “Mumtoz” develops community support programs.
“Mumtoz” works with state actors as well as with other local civil society organizations and conducts projects with support of international agencies and donors such as UNICEF, UNDP and the US Embassy in the field of
- Improving the social and economic living conditions of citizens
- Promoting children rights and legal support
- Promoting traditional folk craft
- Strengthening the rights of children with disabilities as well as their role in society
- Preventing Violent Extremism among youth and strengthening their media literacy
