The Public Organization "Association of Scientific and Technical Intelligentsia of Tajikistan" (PO "ASTI") is a non-governmental non-profit public organization that promotes the development of democratic reforms and improves the quality of life of citizens in the Republic of Tajikistan through the effective use of the potential of the scientific and technical intelligentsia and strengthening the role of the non-profit sector through the implementation of social, information, coordination, educational, and consulting programs. The organization was established on September 18, 1995. Due to the change of its legal address, it was re-registered on February 19, 2020 under number 261 "D".
The main activities of the PO "ASTI":
- Assistance in improving the standard of living of the population
- Assistance in the implementation of state strategies and programs to improve the quality of life of the population, education, healthcare, security and increase the legal literacy of the population;
- Development and implementation of educational programs, community healthcare, social and cultural programs
- Strengthening civil society;
- Conducting research;
- Organizational development and management;
- Implementation of community security programs;
- Implementation of gender programs;
- Youth programs;
- Assistance in preventing and reducing the level of conflicts through educational and advisory programs;
- Environmental protection;
During the entire period of the organization's activity, many social and educational projects were implemented, projects aimed at conducting various types of research, gender focus, supporting women, youth development programs, grant support, including social and business projects. Also, projects aimed at prevention violent extremism and terrorism were implemented.
The PO “ASTI” is the founder of the Fergana Valley Non-Governmental Organizations Network "Valley of Peace".
The PO “ASTI” is the coordinating organization of the national Association of Civil Society Organizations in Tajikistan for Education, the purpose of which is to promote high-quality and inclusive education throughout life for all.
During the entire period of its activity, the PO “ASTI” has collaborated with many international organizations. Has experience working with UN structures such as UNDP, UNICEF, UN Women. Also cooperates with the OSCE Program Office in Dushanbe, Oxfam Denmark, the European Union, GIZ, the US Embassy in Tajikistan, BOMKA 10.
The public organization "ASTI" closely cooperates with local authorities and civil society.
