Public organization "Marifati Shahrvandi" is a republican, non-profit, non-political public organization operating in accordance with the current legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Public organization "Marifati Shahrvandi" was formed in 1999 and is a legal entity, re-registered with the Ministry of Justice of Tajikistan on 02.03.2023 under No. ИЧ 727"Б", has a Certificate of Registration, Charter of the organization and other constituent documents.
The mission of the organization: Comprehensive support for the activation and sustainable strengthening of civil society, raising awareness of civil society and its mobilization to protect economic, social and environmental rights and freedoms, solving social problems of low-income groups, women and youth, and implementing charitable activities.
The main areas of activity are: Support for strengthening the family and its role in society, gender equality, protection of the rights of women and children, promotion of family values, prevention of all forms of violence in society (especially women and children, the elderly and the disabled), radicalism, violent extremism, promotion of a healthy lifestyle, prevention of socially significant diseases, protection of human health, assistance in supporting social security for people with special needs, strengthening and expanding joint cooperation with government agencies, development and activation of women and youth and other groups of the population, environmental protection and environmental safety, cooperation in improving the information literacy of local communities in preventing violent extremism and radicalism at early stages through seminars and conferences, trainings, round tables, cultural and sports events, provision of information materials, etc., rehabilitation and reintegration of citizens with an extremist or terrorist past by providing psychological assistance, documentation and inclusion in vocational training and providing jobs, as well as legal and social support for low-income groups, refugees, forced and labor migrants and members of their families and minority groups of the permanent population of Tajikistan. The NGO "Marifati Shahrvandi" actively works in the civil sector of Tajikistan, is part of the Network of NGOs of the Republic of Tajikistan on "Organization of civil society to combat extremism and terrorism".
NGO "Marifati Shahrvandi" has experience working with UNDP, has implemented a number of projects in partnership with UNDP, implemented projects with the support of the EU, the American Embassy in Tajikistan, ACTED, ALERT - international in Tajikistan in support of actions to prevent violent extremism among women and youth, empowerment of vulnerable women through professional training and economic support, as well as the unification of youth: Tajiks and Afghan refugees to prevent the risks of climate change, etc.
The NGO "Marifati Shahrvandi" operates in all cities and districts of the RRS, Sughd and Khatlon regions. The organization has well-established connections with ministries and departments, the population and executive authorities, local governments, the media, which is of particular value and importance, as it will reduce the time required to establish connections and partnerships, effectively use the time and resources allocated for the project. All projects are implemented in close cooperation with local authorities and responsible government agencies at the level of target districts.
The NGO “marifati shahrvandi” has sufficient material and technical resources to carry out project activities within the framework of several projects.
