PO “Training and Social Assistance Center” has been operating since 2001 and is based in Dushanbe. The PO operates throughout the country and cooperates with government structures, as well as other local civil society organizations and the media.
The mission of the public organization (PO) “Center for Training and Social Assistance” is to:
- supporting the process of democratization of society;
- Cooperation with governmental and non-governmental organizations on the implementation and improvement of gender policy in Tajikistan;
- charitable activities;
- as well as cooperation with mass media; (training of young journalists).
The organization is a member of the Civil Society Organization Network on Countering Radicalism, Extremism and Terrorism.
Donors: UN, WHO, EFCA, HELVETAS and the World Bank.
The PO has implemented projects in the field of:
- education (promoting training for young journalists)
- gender equality (raising awareness on domestic violence)
- Women's empowerment (economic empowerment of women);
- health (information campaign on HIV and women's reproductive health).
