National conference on “Implementation of the Strategy for Countering Extremism and Terrorism for the period of 2021-2025: joint partnership of State Authorities and International Organizations”.

To mark the “International Day for the Prevention of Violent Extremism as and when Conducive to Terrorism”, which is observed annually on February 12, the General Prosecutor Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme in Tajikistan held the National Conference on “Implementation of the Strategy on Countering Extremism and Terrorism for 2021-2025: Joint Partnership of Government Agencies and International Organizations”. The event gathered the key national stakeholders, diplomatic missions, development partners, civil society organizations, experts from a range of disciplines involved in the implementation of the “Strategy on countering extremism and terrorism in the Republic of Tajikistan for the period of 2021-2025” (Strategy).

The conference served as a platform to discuss Government-development partners’ joint engagement in the implementation of the Strategy and joint engagement on the return, rehabilitation, and reintegration of returnees from conflict zones. It also allowed us to take stock of overall progress achieved, discuss existing gaps, and agree on further partnership and practical steps towards further successful implementation of the Strategy.
